German.ie is a portal site created by and for German teachers and students in Ireland and is part of the wider Scoilnet initiative. The development of the site is a result of collaboration between Scoilnet, The Department of Education (Inspectorate), the Goethe Institute, the German Teachers' Association and the Austrian Embassy in Ireland.
The site aims to provide resource material for teachers and students through the opportunity to consult pedagogical material online.
It offers an ideal opportunity to expand and extend the use of ICT in language teaching.
Scoilnet actively promotes the integration of ICT in teaching and learning and as a result has been involved in developing a number of independent websites with specific relevance to the Irish curriculum. This has been done in conjunction with professional development and curriculum support services, and other relevant organisations.

Apart from uploading links or resources to Scoilnet.ie, a Scoilnet Account also provides you with access to content and services such as Scoilnet Maps, CensusAtSchool, Teachercpd,.ie and Scoilnet Webhosting.
