Tablets & Apps Conference

Organised by the Post-Primary Languages Initiative and Maynooth University, it runs at Maynooth on Saturday 28th March.

The conference will bring together language teachers from Post-Primary schools in Ireland as well as those on Initial Teacher Education courses. The keynote presentation will be by Joe Dale (well known blogger and innovative language teacher from the UK).

Interactive presentations and workshops by teachers for teachers will provide examples of how teachers are using apps in their language classes. Some of the topics that will be explored include:

  • Possibilities that tablets offer in language teaching and learning
  • How to make the most of a particular app
  • Apps for developing particular skillsUsing apps for assessment
  • Social Media in the MFL classroomUsing smart phones in class
  • Apps for sharing students work
  • Apps for homework and self-access

The event is supported by the PDST Technology in Education.
